HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY !! The LCRA is taking part in the parade in Arcadia before the rodeo. Parade starts
at 10am and we meet at the rodeo grounds by 9:45 to ride over to the start. A float will be provided for those who do
not want to ride their horses in the parade.
The LCRA will be taking part of the "RODEO
NIGHT" at Hammond Stadium on July 21st. I am not sure what they want us to do yet; I will forward information as
it comes to me.
Next Rodeo: Sept. 6th in Arcadia.

Lil' Cowpoke Rodeo Association was formed so we, as families, can enjoy a hobby together.
We are a family oriented association started to teach horsemanship skills through rodeo events. And we do require
that atleast 1 parent/legal guardian must be present with the child during the duration of the event.
We are basically
a "buckle series rodeo". We have 6 rodeos this year with the sixth being a finals short go with the
awards banquet at the end of the rodeo.(1st place gets a Gist Belt Buckle, 2nd place trophy breastcollar, 3rd place trophy
saddle pad, 4th place trophy halter, 5th place another trophyed item in the 3 bigger kids divisions. The 2-5 year olds will
receive life sized trophy awards. Our events are age appropriate and are offered for ages 2-17 years old. A yearly
membership and call-in's are required.
We want to be honest and upfront with everyone interested
in the LCRA so there are no surprises at the end of the rodeos. This is a rodeo, not a horse show so we will be competing
for points to be in the top 10 to go to the Finals at which time the top 5 contestants will receive awards. **(If we
don't get anymore contestants we will shorten the short-go to ONLY the top 5 in each event - otherwise it really
wouldn't be a "Finals"). We would love to give everyone who comes something but keeping costs
down effects the awards. We are learning to be good sportsmans, whether it be a gracious winner or a good loser (although
we don't think anyone loses if they are having fun and learning). We have offered the option to jackpot events as
a means of getting compensation at each rodeo. If we were to get sponsors, this might change. If anyone
is interested in sponsoring, please give me a call. THANKS. We want to do as much as we can but as a newly formed
club, we don't have the funds all ready there. We don't want to lose sight that we are an inexpensive club and
our main goal is to teach horsemanship skills, sportsmanship and the first step into moving up to the bigger clubs while
spending time with our families.
